TRUCK HEIGHT WARNING
Description
Trucks that come into impact with bridges or overhead passes can cause damage to them, causing long delays to motoring public and injuries not only to truck drivers but to those vehicles following the trucks.
So the truck's HMI will display height warnings if it is following a route that includes a low bridge or flyover.
Objectives
The objective of truck height warning is to warn truck drivers about whether or not the vehicle has clearance to pass under a bridge or tunnel.

IEEE 802.11p CALM FAST, Cellular Communication ((4G LTE, 3G, HSDPA, GPRS)
Project Outcomes
Already in use by TomTom in truck applications.
Limitations
-
The application is basically a niche; only being useful to truck drivers who are driving in cities they aren’t familiar with.
-
Truck height warning is only limited to low structures like bridges, tunnels and other similar structures. Doesn’t take overhead wires into consideration.
